TRIUMPH 1909 MODEL MOTOR CYCLES NOW ARRIVED.
The main improvement in the 1909 Triumph is in the engine, in which a departure from the usual practice has been adopted in respect to the piston. The new Triumph piston has two rings, one at the top and one at the bottom, instead of the general practice of two or three at the top. This absolutely ensures even wear of the cylinder walls, the whole length of the piston-travel, instead of all the wear being concentrated at the top, with consequent difficulty of obtaining proper lubrication, resulting in loss of power, knocking, etc. This system has undergone thorough practical testing on the roads, and we find the compression is retained much longer, still more power is obtained, and efficient lubrication is ensured. A sample 1909 Triumph can be seen at Mr R. Pook's cycle depot, Ma3terton, and a trial spin arranged. Mr E. Hyslop, distributing agent for Triumph motor cycles for Wainrapa, Hawke's Bay and Poverty Ba?. Box 165, Hastings.*
