ADA CROSHLEY. To-night at the loWn Hall Mr J. C. Williamson will present the famous Australian contralto, Madar.e Ada CrOSiWy, and her powerful combination of cenfcert singers, and judging by the splendid booking and the large sale cf five shilling tickets that has taken place, the audience will be both a representative and ft record one, and so it certainly should be, as never in the musical history of Australia or New Zealand has a more popular singer appeared on the concert platform. Amongat the numbers to be sung by Madame Crosrley tonight will be "orubra Ma Fui" with piano and violin obligate by Handel, and "Through Love to Light," by Cuthbert Wynne. Of course she will respond to encores and will render some of the old and popular ballads, including "The Banks of Allan Water"'and "Tlarne." The tenor, Mr' John' Harrison,, will incSudu in his selections "0 Vision Entrancing,"by Goring Thornaa,, alao "To Mary :t and "Love's Mastery"; he will'also sing some popular ballads. The baritone,- Mr Jay &yan, will render "The Colleen Ekw-lf and "The Lord is My Light,-"' lb.is said that the'-brUhant Australian' pianist, Mr Percy Grainger;.has become a he was last in New" Ze'abind. He will include amongst his selections "Polonaise in A Flat" (Chonin) and Hungarian "Rhapsody No.. 12" (Lizst). The violinist, M. Leon Sametini will play " Nocturne "(Chopin-Sarasate)," Minuet" (Mozart), and "Polonaise in A Major" (Weiniawski). Mr Harold Whittle is accompanist. Madame Crossley vs ill arrive by the mail train this morning, and will be met at the station by a large number of leading residents, and will be officially welcomed by the Mayor (Mr Hollings).
THE TITTEL BRUNE SEASON. "Diana of Dobson's," to be staged at the Town Hall on Friday night by Miss Tittell Brune and Mr J. C. Williamson's combined dramatic company, is described as a romantic comedy with a mission. Its sermon is delivered with a fine humour that impels interest, and while amusing does not fail to drive home some truths. Miss Tittell Brune plays the role of Diana and is seen in an entirely new environment. She is supported by Mr J- C. Williamson's company, which includes Messrs Thornas Kingston, Greghan MacMahon, T. W. Lloyd, M. Nodin, Frank Harcourt, Mrs Robert Brongh, Misses Emma Temple, Nellie Calvin, AJele Kelly, Florence Kelly, and Georgie O'Meara. The box plan is at Miss Rive's.
STAR DRAMATIC COMPANY. The first appeai'ance in Masterton of Mr J. C. Williamson's Star Dramatic Company will take place on Saturday night next, when Henri Bernstein's forcsfuJ and most successful drama "The Thief" will be presented. The Company is headed by such world-famous artists as Miss Ola Humphrey, Mr George and Mr Henry Kolker, and these star performers are supported by such an array of talent as has seldom, if ever, toured the colonies in one* combination. On the second night, Monday, January 18th, "Zira" will be presented. The box plans for both performances are now open at Miss Rive's and filling rapidly.
