INTERESTING VITAL STATISTICS FROM DUNEDIN.

In the Dunedin registration district during November just ended 113 births have been registered, 55 marriages have been solemnised, and 58 deaths have been recorded. The figures for the previous month are: —Births, 150; marriages, 55; and deaths, 71. The birth rate thus shows a marked decrease, while the number of deaths is considerably less than for October, and it is worthy of note that during each of the past three months 55 marriages have taken place. The number of marriages during the year has been exceptionally large, and stands a t present at 592. The largest number pf marriages shown in the registrar's books is 664 for the whole of last year, but up to November 30th of last year the figures were 572, and this gives every indication that last year's figures will be exceeded.
