MUNICIPAL AMENITIES.
The pleasant function which took pl.'ice at the Borough "Council Chambers last evening, when the Mayor w«s presented with a dainty silver cradle, to commemorate the birth of his daughter recently, typified in a fitting mariner the cordial relations which have characterised the work of the Mayor and Council of late. Very few matters, indeed—none of any moment —have cropped up in which there has been any sharp difference of opinion between the Mayor ar.d the Council, collectively or individually. The Mayor has displayed so much tact and impartiality that- nothing short of spaciousness could have disturbed the tranquility of the Council's deliberations. It is believed to !be the first 'iccasion that such a presentation has been made to Mayor jof Masterton, and His Worship was j fully deserving of the honour con- | ferred upon him last evening.
