MASTERTON SOUTH BRASS BAND.
* LAST NIGHT'S CONCERT. The Town Hall was well filled last evening, when a sacred concert was given i:i aid of the funds of the Masterton South Brass Band. The programme included items by the Band itself, and these wero very capably rendered, the Band having evidently put in a lot of work on practice nights of late. Following is the full programme gone through at the concert: Selection, "Postmen's Parade," Band; recitation, "Christmas Day in the Workhouse," Mr R. Russell; quartette, "Seeking the Lost," Mrs and Miss Harding, and Messrs VV. H. Kemp and J. Bentley; song, "Star of Bethlehem," Mr Johnstone; song, "Alone," Miss Raku Carroll (encored): recitation,"The Matron's Story," Mr H. Hall; Selection, "Redeemer," Band ; song, "Why don't they play with me," Miss Ettie Joyce (encored); piano and violin duet, "Remembrance," Master and Miss Gough; song, Mr H. Kemp; song, "Low at Thy Feet," Miss Millar; Doxology, Band. The accompanists were Misses Elsie Richards, C.P.T.C.L., Miss Gough and Mr Harding, the stage manager being Mr E. G. Amoore. A substantial collection was taken at the door, admission being by silver coin.
