The Trades Union Congress at Bath fiercely denounced the English blacklegs assisting the Shipping Federation to fight the strikers at Hamburg and Antwerp. It was unanimously resolved to ask the Government to searchingly inquire into the shooting of strikers at Belfast. Some of the speakers blamed Mr A. Birrell, Chief Secretary of Ireland. Resolutions were passed in favour of giving postal servants full civil rights and abolishing overtime in all trades.
