Received August 13, 10.8 a.m. SYDNEY, August 13. The New South Wales professional football team is seeking to arrange a tour of England in 1908. THE AUCKLAND REPRESENTATIVES. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, August 13. The sole selector to the Auckland Rugby Union has chosen the following players to represent Auckland in the tour South as far as Invercargill: —Backs: Miller, Murray, Twiname, Dillamore, R. Magee, Stuckey, Tarrant, Hogan. Ladner (of Auckland), Snowling (Thames), and Coote (Waikato). Forwards, Macdonald, Gillett, Maguire (2) (City and Grafton), Nicholson, Seeling, Francis, Hall, Cunningham, Kinder, MacCormick, Williams (of Auckland), andHayward (Thames). Emergencies —Backs, Wilson, Woodward (Auckland) and Newdick (Thames). The team will probably leave Auckland next Tuesday. The first match will be played against Taranaki. Taken as a whole the combination is the best that could be secured for Auckland on this season's form. The backs are a fast tricky lot, and well up in all points of the game, and during the present season have shown consistent form. The forwards, if all of them can get away, will fully uphold Auckland's prestige. It is not known whether those players in Australia, who will rrrive here next Sunday, will be aL 'etomake the trip, but Seeling has already said he has given the game up, while G. Tyler, who has also retired, will be a notable absentee. There are several young players included, and on the form they have shown all have fully justified their inclusion, though one would like to see Herring among the pack. C. Seeling returned from Australia, yesterday, and states that the Australian play has greatly improved, but is not yet up to the New Zealand standard in either the forward or back divisions. The New Zealand team suffered from sickness and hard grounds.
