COMPANIES AND ELECTION FUNDS. LONDON, April 26. In the House of Commons. Mr Lloyd-George, President of the Board of Trade, announced a Bill prohibiting railway and [othsr statutory corporations from contributing out of their funds to political contests. A LOCAL OPTION BILL. Received April 28, 4.45 p.m. LONDON, April 27. In the House of Commons, Mr R. Balfour's Local Option (Scotland) Bill was read a second time by 251 to 95 and referred to a committee.
THE BUTTEIi BILL. Received April 4.45 p.m. 'LONDON, April 27. A deputation from the Irish Butter Trade Association and Grocers' Federation in England interviewed Sir Edward Strachey and urged him to amend the Butter Bill to prohibit substitutes or milk-blended butter containing more than 16 per cent, of moisture.
