DROWNING FATALITY AT ROTORUA.

By Telegraph—Press Association. IJOTORUA, December 2. A sad drowning fatality occurred on Lake Rotokakahi, this morning at 11 o'clock. William Seeley and Alexander Smith went out in a small boat. They discovered that the boat was leaking very much, and eventually the boat swamped. Both men clung to it for sqme time. Seeley let .go of the boat and struck out for the shore. He swam well for about a ohain, then suddenly disappeared. ; Smith stuok to the beat', and eventually reached shore greatly exhausted. Mrs Smith witnessed the sad occurrence from the shore, she being the only person present. The boat was only about 200 yards from shore when it sank. Seeley was a highly-respeoted townsman, and took great Interest in all sports. He was seoretary of tbe Football Olub and Bowling Club. He has left a widow and a child.
