S. MATTHEW'S CLUB.
SUCCESSFUL. ENTERTAINMENT. Tbe members of S. Mattbew's Olab gave an entertainment in S. Matthew's School-room, last evening, before a large audience. The programme was a lengthy and attractive one, and the items were warmly applauded. The following was the programme: -rSnng, Little Jap Horner, Mr W. Iggnldeu; song, The Dear Home Land, Mrs Asbton; song, Russian Love Song, Mr R. Henry; song,- Miss Elkins; song, Three for Jack, Mr W. Norman (encore); song, Maid of Malabar, Miss Oou. Keedwell; song, Mr W. Sellar; song, Slumber Sea, Miss Hazel Fuller; song, Mr F. J. Ouon; song, Loch Lomond, Miss Vera Edwards; musionl sketob, Messrs F. W. Todd and D. Walsh; chorus, S. Matthew's Uluh; }My Little Wooden Hut, J. Wintringhara; The Brass Band, R. Hatch; The Old Apple Tree, George Wagg; Mother Hubbard, E. Maokersey ; Lucky. Jim ; Olareuce La Roche; Hear the Pipers, J. Berry; The "Mermaid, Stanley Sreeves; Yankee Doodle, Kenneth Braddoofe; Love's Old Sweet Song, H. Long; Every Race Has a E lag, K. Hatch. E. Maokersey was interlocutor, aud the cornermen were U. La Roche, S. Edwards, R. Hatoh and W. The aooompaniments were (played by Miss E. Kichards. The entertainment was brought so a conclusion with an amusing farce, entitled, -"Wanted-^-A General." The characters, which, were well sustained, "were as follow: Mr Jumbles, D. La Uo'bhe; Mrs Jumbles, J. Wintringham; Fleeaem, E. Maokersey; Hannah, a. Edwards; Caesur Orum, W. Pa'amontain. A speoial word of praise is due to Mr F. W. Todd, who acted as stage manager. The piano used during the entertainment was lent by the Wellington Piano Company, through their Mastorbn agents, Messrs MoLeod and Young. The furniture was lent by Messrs Hartmann, Hoar and Permnin.
