VIOLENT STORM, A FARMER KILLED. Received October 17, 9.49 a.m. SYDNEY, Ootober 17. A storm unroofed the grandstand on the Grafton Racecourse, and damaged many places in the outskirts, the business portions escaping the worst violence. The surrounding distriot suffered most, the injury to crops and fruit trees being very extensive. A farmer, named M'Mahon, was killed by lightning. UNDERPAID OLtiRGY. A return showing the cost of plague suppression since its first occurrence was laid on the table of the Assembly to-day. Tne total cost was £250,115.
