HON. R. M'NAB BANQUETTED.

M'Nab, Minister of Lands, was banquetted by bis'constituents, to nighty about 300 beinfr present. • The "Minister, in reply to thetoast of his health, did not touoh on the policy of the Ward administration. Referring to his own appointment he made public for the first time the fact that the late Premier had offered him a seat in Cabinet iu February, 1905, as Minister of Lands and Education. Mr Seddou had also expressed his intention of o2:ering Mr Millar the portfolios of Marino and Laboar, and further stated that if a further appointment were necessary the man to whom he would offer a post would be was Mr Fowlds. This showed that Sir Joseph Ward had formed the Cabiuefc as his late chief would have done had ho lived, and that during the present year the Cabinet would have been reoonstruotod and the men now promoted would have been in Mr Seddon's Ministry.
