ATTEMPT TO RE-CAPTURE A CHURCH. A FIERCE ENCOUNTER TAKES PIjACE. TWELVE PEOPLE KILLED. Received April 24, 9.25 a.m. ST. PETERSBURG, April 23. Two thousand Catholics are endeavouriug to recapture a cburcb in the Warsaw district. . A fierce encounter took pace with the Miriavites. Twelve people wero killed and fifty wounded. Miriavites would not allow the surgeons to attend to the wounded. FATHER GAPON. REPORTED TO HAVE BEEN HANGED. Received April 24, 9.35 a.m. ST. PETERSBURG, April 24. It is reported in Russia that four revolutionary ®J labourers hanged Father Gapon after overhearing bim trying to persuade a revolutionary leader to beoome a police spy like himself.
