SALE OF WORK.
' Tie bazaar or sale of work In aid of | Holy Trinity Church funds, which took place on Wednesday and Thursday, proved very successful, the ladies succeeding in selling the bulk of the fine collection of goods, whilst the refreshment stall and side attractions, such as the Xmas tree, bran dip, etc., were well patronised and helped to SAvell the net proceeds to a considerable extent. The following were the staH-ho?<3ers ;—; — Ladies' Guild and Fancy Stall — Meßdatnes W) nnn N» Mitchell (Dunedin), Dale (a visitor from South Africa), M € Lean, M'Kinlay ; Misses Pettit (2). Refreshments -Misses Nichols, Taylor, Pickett, and Wakefield. Produce — Mesdames Sinclair and Taylor Xmas Tree — Mesdames J. Brooks and Hinde and Miss E. Brooks. Sweets, etc.— Misses Winmill, Simpson, Ferguson, Browne, Re ta Nichols, Richards, A. Jeffery, and May. Competitions — Messrs W. R, Smyth and R. C. Moore. On Wednesday evening there was a crowded attendance of the public, and the proceedings Avere enlivened from time to time with niusical selections and vocal items contributed by Mrs Dale, Miss Nichols and Miss Annie Jeffery, which were all much appreciated. The Tuapeka Brass Band very kindly lent their assistance on Wednesday evening, by playing a number of popular selections in the grounds. The total amount taken dm ing the two days was between £70 and £80, a result that is deemed to be highly satisfactory.

| BOWLING & TENNIS. Wednesday afternoon was ideal for bowling and tennis, and there Avas a large attendance of players on the green. A return match, President v. Vice-Presi'denit, was arranged, and again the Vice-President's side prevailed, the scores at the cjxnclusiion being 91 — 72. Afternoon tea was provided as usual and keenly apprecieU cd. The tennis courts were kept klly engaged all the afternoon though there was no set match. Following are the scores of the boAvling match : P. V.

The bowling match against Stirling Club which, it was iindersto'od, would be jJayed on ihe local green this afternoon, Avill not take place, Mr McLean, secretary, having received a wire to the effect that the Stirling Club could not get enough players to make the journey and asking that the fixture be postponed to a future date.
