MEETING OF FARMERS.
A THRESHING UNION. » A meeting of Greenfield and Waitahuna West settlers was held in Mr James s Moore's dwellinghouse, Tatteuham, on Saturday night for the purpose of dealing , with the tenders received for threshing the ' crop of members of the Union. Owing to r the night being very wet the attendance j was not as good as it would otherwise have r been. Twenty-seven members, however, ; were present, and the proceedings were of ; an enthusiastic character. g Mr E. King, who was appointed chair- j man, explained that they had advertised for tenders for threshing for the district, j and submitted tenders from eight millowners in response thereto^ _ After a full discussion,"* it wa« un mi- . mously resolved to accept the tender of Mr Thomas Heenan, which will represent a considerable saving to the farmers interested.
