TUAPEKA HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

A grand exhibition of flower?, fruit and vegetables will be held in the Volunteer Hall to-day (Wednesday) when it is reasonable to expect the efforts of the Society towards stimulating and cultivating the public tatta will receive ."-practical 'recognition from the people of the town and surrounding district. That the necessity for Buoh support exists it maf be well again to remind U)e public fes the Society still continues to run Us exhibitions on lines which leave it entirely dependent ori public support not only for its success but for ita continuance. No prizes will be given, though that fact is not likely to make so much difference as far as horticulturists are oonoerned. Proof in that resptct lies in the fact that the exhibition to-day is in every respect worthy of the Society , both in flowers and vegetables, locally grown fruit being also as well represented as the present stage of the season will permit. There are, therefore, tbe strongest reasons that the public should attend in large numbers and make the show as mneb. a financial success as possible, and no doubt they will do so, \o attrastiye feature of ihe show in the evening will be the pre r sence of the Lawrence Orchestral Band, nbilat tbe local Brass -B»n<i will j>l»j- seme selections outside the hall.
