MR AND MRS BARNES.

Mr and Mrs Barnes, of Beaumont, who have just been married, received a pleasant surprise on Saturday evening last, waen tbe crew of the Golden Gravel dredge, of whioh Mr Barnes is the master, drove to their residence for the purpose of congratulating them on their marriage and, at the same tim», presenting them with a tangible token of their esteem and goodwill. The presentation consisted of a very handsome writing table and inkstand to Mr Barnes and equally bandsome dressing case to Mrs Barnes. The gifts were accompanied with expressions of good wishes for the recipients' future welfare and happiness. After Mr Barnes bad (hanked tbe crew on behalf of his wife and himself for their very handsome presents, a very pleasant evening was spent in sooial harmony.
