London, September 15, Steyn and De Wet refused to listen to Pastor Murray, who voluntarily undertook to visit l3e Wet and endeavor to persuade him to recall and disband the Boers who were invading Cap 6 Oolonj-, September 16. De Wet refused to disenss Lord Kit* chener's proclamation. He told Pastor Murray that a clergyman's place was the pulpit. Ey-Presidenfc Steyn discussed the proclamation, but remained unconvinced by Mr Murray's arguments. He insisted that the Boer refugee women were brntally treated. The revenue of the Orange River Colony for the year shows a Rurplus of £84,000, without including telegraphs and railway returns. Commandant Theron, with a force of 80 men, boldly attacked Ferdelberg on Friday. Twenty-five men of the West Yorkshire Regiment repulsed the enemy wifch loss. A commission in the Middlesex Regiment has been granted to Lance-corp. Storer of the Sixth New Zealand contingent. Broeckma, formerly public prosecutor, arrested at Johannesburg, is charged with treachery and treason. The documents seized in his house showed that treasonable correspondence had been proceeding for six months per the medium of Broeckma's house between Dr Leyds, Mr Kruger, Reitz, and the commandants in the field, under cover of letters addressed to the American Consuls at The Hague and Johannesburg. Mr Kruger's letters shewed that he was forwarding to Dr Leyds Broeckma's news, intended to influence pro- Boer organs, with the object of prompting action in Parliament. The documents Seized included a type-written proclamation signed by Louis Botha announcing that the Boer fighting generals had outlawed Lord Kitchener and all British officers, and ordering all bnrghers to kill every ajrmed soldier and policeman. Two of Reitz's despatch-riders were captured on the Transvaal-Portuguese frontier circulating cuttings from the "Review of Reviews " and other .English pro-Boer organs. There is an impression in Capetown that only propertied Boers will be allowey to surrender. Loyalists urge tbe cessation of leniency and stricter measures and vigorous warfare. Fifteen Boers were captured at Tbabanchu on the 12oh after an engagement. Sydney, September 16. The 18 New Zealander troopers who returned by the Harlech Castle proceed to New Zealand by the next steamer.
