MINUTES,
The minutes of the previous ordifeary and special meetings were read and confirmed.
THE FARMEM' AftESOY, GU-|t. Tb,e, cftaftager ojt'the Farmers* Agency 00. wrote in reply to the club's letter ie the silver cup promised by that firm for t^e most points in sheep, with the stipulation that it be confined to competitors in the Tuapeka County §nlv:. ' The manager dow stated that the Farmers' Agenpy would withdraw their promise of giving a silver oup, and would ooufcri-
bute 30s to the funds of the club instead. The Secretary stated that notice had been given of the withdrawal of tbe cup in the Tuapeka Times and "Bruce Herald." A FAUMBRS* GRIEVANCE. Mr Alex. Campbell, secretary of the Tokomairiro Farmers' Club, wrote requesting the co-operation of the Waitahuna club in endeavoring to get the "custom of charging 2| per cent, for cash and also of weighing bags in in grain transactions done away with. The letter also pointed out that north of Dunedin all grain transactions were nett cash and bags paid for. It was decided tbat as the subject was a matter of considerable importance and as there was a large amount of business to be done at the present meeting, the further consideration of the subject be held over till the next meeting of the club. THE CLUB'S GROUND. A letter was read from Mr W. Patrick with reference to damage done to trees in the club's ground through the burning of gorse cuttings, and apologising for the damage done. On the motion of Mr Craig, seconded by Mr Rose, Mr Patrick's apology was accepted. SHOW PRIZES. On the motion of Mr Craig, seconded by Mr Corry, the treasurer was authorised J;o pay all prizes as awarded on which entrance fees had been paid. COS QRATULATORT. The Secretary reported that he had much pleasure in congratulating the club upon the success attending their seventeenth annual show just recently held. The entries were in excess of the two previous years and the gate money was equal to that of last year. The entertainment in the evening also was a decided success, the receipts from that source being fully up to previous years. The thanks of the club were due to those ladies and gentlemen who sokindly assisted at the concert. Everything had been carried out without a single hitch. Owing to not yet having yet received all outstanding accounts he was unable to give them a detailed account of the result financially, but from returns at present in hand he was enabled to congratulate the club upon being able to meet all liabilities in connection with the show, and a balance to credit. The prizes as allotted amounted to about £112.
ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £23 Is were passed for payment.
