DUNEDIN WOOL SALES.

Wright, Stephenson, and Co., report as follows: — For our third sale, held at the Oddfellows' Hall, Rattray-street, on Friday, we catalogued 2,220 bales, including some very choice Southern wools, both half breds and merinos, notably H over St. Ronans, N over Abbotsford, RR over Berwick, and horseshoe brands. Wools of these descriptions being for the most part suitable for America, were in good demand, and the St.

Ronans half bred making 11 fd per lb, and ♦he N over Abbotsford wool up to lOAd. The attendance of buyers was much the same as at the second series, and prices ruled on about the same level, excepting for low class merinos and crossbreds, which were distinctly a halfpenny per lb lower. Messrs Stronach Bros, and Morris report as follows : — We held our third wool sale of the season on Friday, at Oddfellows' Hall, Rattray-street. Catalogues were larger than at previous sales, over 7,000 bales being offered, comprising considerable parcels of station merino, for which the demand was very slack. A decline in values for all heavy conditioned earthy wools was noticeable — \d to Id per lb for heavy merino being submitted to — while coarse, heavy crossbreds and three-quarterbreds may be quoted £d below rates lately ruling. Fine, light, and clean wools were well com. peted for at prices about on a par with those of last s"*]es. Advices from London of sales on the 26th inst. were of a discouraging nature, and local sales will no doubt compare favourably with those at Home when further particulars reach us. The attendance of buyers was very good. Growers' reserves were not in all cases reached, several lines being passed in for shipment or private disposal. We sub. mitted a catalogue of 103 bales, and sold merino up to 9Jd, light half bred up to lOd, pieces up to Bd, locks to 4}d.
