LOCAL SALES. Mr John Thompson reports having held a clearing sale at Mr A. Clark's Provincial Hotel, Evans Flat, on Friday last. There was a large attendance of buyers, the prices realised being verj' satisfactory. Draught. horses sold at from £14, lOs to £22. Farming implements brought good prices. Mr Thompson also reports that at his monthly sale held yesterday there was a large attendance of buyers and others. The demand for sheep was very good, and consequently competition was fairly active. Five hundred mixed sheep were penned, and all were sold at the following prices : Crossbred hoggets, 9s 6d, 10s, 11s, and 11s 3d ; wethers, 10s 6d to 12s Id ; ewes, 7s to 10s Id. A pen of merino ewes (old) brought 3s 3d. Twenty-five head of cattle were yarded and realised : — Yearling, 20s ; steers, 50s to £4 10s. Only a few light horses came forward, bringing £3 12s 6d to £7 10s. Thirty pigs brought from 7s 6d to 19s. A Bamlett reaper was sold for £20 10s.
