Fat Cattle:— 2o7 head were yarded at Burnside for to-day's, market. A large proportion of these was good to prime, ttnd competition for 'prime beef was brisk, prices realised showing a slight advance, while medium ruled about" the same as last weeki Best bullocks brought £8 10s to £lls 15s ; others, £5 10s to £8; and* cows in proportion. — Wright, Stephenson and Co. quote prime beef at 22s 6d perlOOlb (a few special lots a shade ' more) ; medium, 17s to 20s. Fat Calves.— Mr L. Maclean sold 11 at 5s to 2^B.' ' t 'Fat' Sheepi — The market to • day was supplied' with 1080 crossbreds (mostly of fair to good quality, one or two pens being prime) and 440* merino, wethers (nil of good and useful quality). This.supply was barely sufficient for requirements, but as several buyers had some over from last week competition was less !keen than might have been expected. Nevertheless an advance of from Is to Is 6d per head over last week's prices was realised. Best crossbred wethers brought 15s 9d to 16s 9d ; others, 13s 6d to 14* 9d ; do eweß, 8s 3d to 12s 6d ; merino wethers, 8s 6d to 11s. — Donald Stronach quotes mutton at 2£d per lb. J3tbre Cattle.— Three and four-year-olds in forward condition are inquired for, but few are offering. '- Store Sheep.— Young ' crossbred ewes and wethers are in fair demand,' and proportionately to fat sheep,' ' would command high pricejs. „ . Horses. — Wrigh't, Stephenspn and Co. quote first-class at from £28 to £34 ; medium, £15 to ■ £25 ; first-class hacks aud light-harness horses, £18 to £24; medium, £9 to £15; light! and inferior, £3 to £6~. Rabbitskine.'— Mr Donald Stronach 'offered and ;sold a medium catalogue of inferior, mixed, and medium, none being very good, as follows: — 1 bag at 2£d, 3do do 4£d, 4do do sd, 1 do do, 7fd, 1 bale at lOJd, and 2 bags at 12id.
