“Ten Minute Alibi.”.

No play since the war has caused more world-wide excitement or met with more universal enthusiasm than Anthony Armstrong’s famous “Ten Minute Alibi.” In Great Britain alone over 1,000,000 people have seen the stage version, and when recently presented in New Zealand by the J. C. Williamson Co. it proved the most successful stage production presented in the Dominion for years. This sensational play has now been brought to the screen by the British studios, and on Friday it will be presented at the Civic All British Theatre for the first time in the Southern Hemisphere. An exceptionallv strong cast has been gathered together for this famous story, including several members of the stage production who will be seen in their original roles. The cast is headed by Phillips Holmes, who is making his first appearance in British Pictures, Aileen Marson, who requires no introduction, and Theo Shall, the celebrated Continental favourite. The story, simple dramatically, is mathematically ingenious and intensely thrilling, and innumerable spectators have seen the play several times, so fascinating has the ingenuity of “Ten Minute Alibi” proved to be. The management announce that box plans are now open at the theatre, and that there will be no advance in the usual Civic prices.
