AUSTRALIAN RACING.

Large Decrease in Spring Nominations. (Received Tune 5, 1.10 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Nominations for big spring handi caps in Australia show a noticeable falling off. Excluding entries yet to be received from New Zealand, the A.J.C. Epsom Handicap nominations total 118 as compared with 141 last year. Those for the Metropolitan number 108 as compared with 134 a year ago. The Melbourne Cup total of 229 is the lowest for many years, 365 being received last year for the Centenary Cup. For the Caulfield Cup 228 entries were received as compared with 341 in 1934. All the other spring races showed definite decreases.

The only handicap race for which Peter Pan has been entered is the Melbourne Cup, which he has already won twice. It is intended at present that Peter Pan’s racing career will end k after the spring carnival.
