America’s Most Marvellous Woman Swimmer. Special—By Air Mail. VANCOUVER. April 13. Katherine Rawls, 17, is now hailed as America’s most marvellous woman swimmer. Grinning and boyish-looking, she weighs only 1071 b. She streaked through the choppy Lakeshore Club’s Chicago course in the 100 yards breaststroke and then quickly annexed the 220 yards free-style. In the first event she made a dramatic finish, setting a new national record, lmin 20 6-10 sec. She did 300 yards individual medley in 4min 9sec.
