RECREATION RESERVE.

Negotiations for Area in Beach Road. The Waimairi County Council decided at its meeting last evening to approach the Selwyn Plantation Board to ascertain how much it required for a quarter-acre section in Beach Road, near the Waimairi golf course, for recreation purposes. The question was raised when the Waimairi Beach Progress League wrote pointing out that it had endeavoured to come to an agreement for the purchase of a quarter-acre section in Beach Road for the site for a public hall, but the Selwyn Plantation Board wanted - cash payment for such an area. The league asked the council to secure the land for it. as it might be able to exchange one of its sections for that which the league required. The league, it was added, was willing to repay the purchase price over a given period.
