MILITARY TRAINING.
Objective of Australian Defence Policy. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received March 12, 11.30 a.m.) CANBERRA, This Pay. The Federal Government does not propose to reintroduce compulsory military training for at least another two years. The Ministry has indicated that the money available for the rehabilitation of the defences in the next few years can better be used on the permanent establishment than in attempting to rebuild a partly-trained citizen force under the compulsory system. The ultimate restoration of compulsory training, however, is one of the objectives of the defence policy.
