Australia Will Not Seek Appointment. REPORTS DISCOUNTED. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyi ight. (Received March 12, 12.30 p.m.) CANBERRA, This Day. Reports from London that the Commonwealth Government will seek to secure the appointment of the Duke of Kent as Governor-General are discounted in official circles. It is understood that the matter was discussed prior to the departure of Mr Lyons and a decision was reached that the time was not appropriate to seek a member of the Royal Family as Governor-General.
