MELANESIAN MISSION.
A well-attended meeting of parish representatives was held in Church House to make final arrangements for the garden party and sale which is to take place at Bishopscourt next Saturday week, March 2. The Rev C. W. Maclavert.v presided in the absence of Dean Julius. The secretary reported that the Cathedral and fourteen parishes had decided to take part in the garden party and it was likely that other parishes would join in. Members of Toe IT, under the leadership of Mr A. S. Geddes, had kindly agreed to run a while Miss Grace Bar grove win ifreTent missionary pageants. St Luke’s will take charge of the afternoon tea arrangements and Upper Rieoarton will have an ice cream stall. Other parishes taking part include: Cashmere Hills, Spreydon, Belfast, West Lyttelton, Merivale, Phillipstown, Opawa, St Michael’s, New Brighton, Fendalton, Shirley and St Matthew’s. The Associates of Melanesia - will be in charge of native goods and a variety stall, and Miss G. Ttockley the basketware. Contributions in money and goods will be gratefully received at the Melanesian Office, 173 Cashel Street.
