PICNIC AT PURAU.
“ Times ” and “ Star ” Staffs’ Outing. SPORTS AND BATHING. Fine weather favoured the fourth annual picnic of New Zealand Newspapers, Ltd., which was held at Purau yesterday. More than two hundred members of the staffs of the •’Christchurch Times” and tiie "Cnristchurch Star” and their friends enjoyed a programme of sports events and bathing. At the conclusion of the sports the prizes were presented by Mr J. J. S tuples. Following were the results of the sports:—Boys and girls under five—- . Lewis Blackburn 1, llata Wornall 2.
