MUSHROOMS ARRIVE.

First of Season Sell at 2s 6d a Pound. The first of the new season’s mushrooms made an appearance in Christchurch fruit shops yesterday, selling at 2s 6d a lb. Limited supplies came from the Tai Tapu district, and were bought readily. The mushroom crop is a fortnight to three weeks earlier this year, as supplies do not usually arrive until the beginning of March. The recent warm, misty rain has assisted considerably in bringing them on.
