EYE COSMETICS.
One of the most popular items in the stock of a beauty specialist in Mayfair just now is her new cosmetic for the eyelids. This is a cream in two shades of brown, nigger and nut colour, two shades of green and one shade of mauve, and it is very lightly smeared over the eyelids to give a luminous effect at night. Women are having fair eyelashes dyed. The effect lasts about six weeks, and instead of mascara, this specialist is advising her clients to apply a minute quantity of petroleum jelly on an eyelash brush to the lashes. An eye-cream in different colours, each flecked with silver, or a plain gold and silver cream, is an amusing notion for the smart young married woman, and the specialist, who makes this up in her own laboratories, is careful to use only the finest ingredients under medical supervision.
