MINISTER RETIRES.

(Special to the “Star.”) ASHBURTON, February 13. A tribute to the work of the Rev W. Marshall, who has been minister of the Tinwald Presbyterian Church for eighteen years and who is retiring from the active ministry, was paid by members at yesterday’s meeting of the Ashburton Presbytery. An illuminated address was presented to Mr Marshall. The address was signed by the Revs' R. Morgan (Moderator), A. D. Kirkland, D. B. Ashford and Ronald S. Watson, Messrs J. T. Mangin, E. A. F. Hamilton, J. A. Arnold and Edward E. Oakley (elders). It was agreed to record in the minutes appreciation of Mr Marshall’s services An invitation was accepted by members to attend a farewell to be given by the congregations of the TinwaldFlemington parish at Tinwald on February 28.
