MR N. ROAKE’S DEATH.
Inquest to Be Held Next Wednesday. Only three witnesses will be called when an inquest is held on Wednesday next into the death of Mr Noel Roake, late manager of the Regent Theatre, who was killed on January 19 last when one of the Canterbury Aero Club’s Moth planes, which he was flying, crashed in the sea fifteen miles from Waipara. In escaping from the wreckage, Mr Roake was washed off a rock, stunned and drowned. Mr Cecil Haigh. his passenger, made valiant but unsuccessful attempts at rescue. The chief witness at the inquest will be Mr Haigh, who will describe the circumstances of the crash and the events immediately following it. Expert evidence will be given by Squad-ron-Leader J. L. Findlay, and medical evidence by Dr W. G. Rich. Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M., will be the Coroner.
