WOMEN’S CRICKET.

England v. New Zealand Test at Lancaster Park. It is now definite that a test match, England v. New Zealand, will be plaved at Lancaster Park on February 16 and 18 and that on February 7 the tourists will play Canterbury, also at Lancaster Park. Admission prices for the Canterbury game were fixed at an executive meeting of the Canterbury Ladies’ Cricket Association last evening at 2s for the stands and Is on the bank. Mrs Machin suggested that an official letter should be sent to the men’s association apprising them of the Canterbury arrangements for the tour and asking for their support. Arrangements for the annual Mary Machin Shield match against Otago on January 18 and 19 were completed. The game will be played on the Christ’s College cricket ground and play will commence each day at 11 a.m., stumps to be drawn at 6 p.m. The Canterbury-team will be announced next week by a selection committee consisting of Misses A. Scott and I. Grant and Mr F. Woods, who is coaching the players. Umpires Arranged For. The Suburban Umpires’ Association wrote offering to supply umpires for all representative fixtures and also for any possibles v. probables games. This offor was accepted and the association was' requested to arrange umpires for the coming Otago game. A letter from the newly-formed Ladies’ Cricket Umpires’ Association stated that the first meeting had been held and that the officers elected were: President. Mr H. J. Hill: vice-president, Mr P.
