Twenty-seven Mohammedans Injured. TRIED TO PREVENT ARRESTS. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received January 10, 11 a.m.) BOMBAY, January 9. Seven Mohammedans were killed and twenty injured when the police fired on a mob in Ichalkaranji, a small State which is a dependent of Kolhapur. It is alleged that the mob attacked the police and attempted to prevent arrests.
