PICNIC FOR SAILORS.

Two hundred petty officers and men of H.M.A.S. Australia went to Diamond Harbour for a picnic to-day, leaving Lyttelton at 11 o’clock in the Harbour Board’s tug. The men were free up till 12.30. when land and water sports were to begin, occupying most of the afternoon. The men will be taken back to the ship at 7 o’clock, in time to prepare for the dance on board to-night.
