TALLOW WORKERS’ WAGES.

Following their proposal of a reduction of a penny an hour in the wages of tallow workers, manure workers and others, the employers at a session of the Conciliation Council yesterday modified their demand by suggesting a decrease of a halfpenny an hour on the present ruling rates. The employees’ assessors were unwilling to accept the offer and the proceedings were adjourned so that they could confer with the men on the job.
