DUKE AMONG SHEARERS.

First-hand Knowledge of Operations. Per Press Association. OHAKUNE, January 2. First-hand knowledge of New Zealand sheep-shearing and sheep-farming operations was obtained by the Duke of Gloucester to-day, when he was shown over Mr T. A. Duncan’s property at Ilunterville. In the sheds the Prince saw machines in full operation, and displayed great interest in the dogs. He went into the pens and assisted in drafting the fat lambs from the ewes ready for shearing. He also examined specimens of wools and took Cinematograph photographs of shearAlthough rain fell in the morning, the weather cleared in the afternoon, which his Royal Highness spent on horseback, riding across country, and enjoying jumping logs. He rejoined the Royal train at Ilunterville and left Ohakune at midnight for New Plymouth.
