SCHOOL CARNIVAL.
Children Attend in Fancy Dress. SYDENHAM COMMITTEE. The annual fancy dress carnival organised by the Sydenham School Committee was held on Saturday afternoon in the school grounds, Colombo Street, Sydenham. There was a large attendance of the public. The judges of the fancy dresses were: Mesdames R. W. Ander-
son, E. E. Boon, J. J. Hurley, E. Parlane, J. Poison, Misses Parlane and Moulin. Items were given by the school pupils as follows: Girls, rythmic dance and ballet (teacher. Miss E. Macßae); percussion hand (teacher, Miss L. K. Bellwood). The prizes were presented by Mr J. J. Hurley, a member of the Education Board. The ice cream stall was in the charge of Mrs IV. Lloyd and the afternoon tea in the charge of Mrs JG. Brown. Those present in fancy dress were: Dorreen Wasley (Chubby Umbrella), Valerie Jones (Sydenham Kindergarten).
