LAST RESPECTS PAID.
Funeral of Late Professor C. F. Salmond.
Many sections of the community, but principally those connected with education, were represented at the funeral of the late Professor Charles Francis Salmond, which left his late residence, 7, Constance Street, Merivale, for the Waimairi Cemetery this morning. The service at the house and at the graveside was conducted by the Rev A. C. Watson. The chief mourners were: Mr L. Salmond (a brother). Dr R. S. Allan (nephew) and Mr C. J. Styche (brother-in-law). The pall-bearers were; Messrs L. Salmond, C. D. Hardie, C. J. Styche, R. Speight, Dr J. Hight and Dr R. S. Allan. Wreaths were sent by the following: Edwin Salmond, Louis Salmond, Mabel Salmond. Emily Allan, Dr and Mrs R. S. Allan. Professor and Mrs Steele, Bertha Sams, Ashburton High School Old Pupils’ Association, Chairman and the Members of the Canterbury University College Council, Dr and Mrs Hight and Miss Doreen Hight, Mrs Frank Willis, Misses Davis, Mr and Mrs R. Speight, Patricia Powrie, S. and I. Long, Mr and Mrs Leversedge, Mr and Mrs J. E. Todhunter, Mr and Mrs J. M. Dawson, Mr and Mrs Drurv and Joan; Mr and Mrs Scarvell, Martin Dawson, Mr and Mrs Wratt, Members of the Professorial Board, Canterbury College, and Mrs Malcolm. Among those present were: Mr C. T. Aschman (chairman of the Canterbury College Council), Dr J. Ilight (rector of Canterbury College), Mr J. H. E. Schroder, Mr R. A. Campbell, Professors A. H. Tocker. P. H. Powell and S. Steele, Mr R.
