North Beach Pupil Wins Girls’ Singles. ANNUAL PRIMARY TOURNEY. The annual primary schools tennis tournament was held at Wilding Park this morning, when representatives of most of the local schools were present. A high standard was reached by some of the players, particularly in the final of the girls' singles. In that event, Peggy Cramp (North Beach) and Pamela Dickey (Hornby) gave a hard-hit-ting display that was well worth watching. Peggy Cramp won, 9-6. Peggy Cramp, partnered by M. Peppier, also won the girls’ doubles for North Beach. The tournament was splendidly organised by Messrs E. B. Diehl (North Beach) and L. J. Wilkins (Elmwood), and for over three hours there was a stream of matches, for most of which the pupils acted as umpires.
