A UNIQUE WEDDING.
Bride and Groom Wear Ski-ing Suits. MARRIED ON MOUNT EGMONT. An interesting and unusual wedding took place recently at the Alountain House, Afount Egmont, when Miss Mavis Collins was married to Mr John Dixon Carryer, both leaving the Stratford Alountain Club to take up the management of the Alountain House. The ceremony was performed by the Rev K. P. Al’Farland, Anglican vicar, and Mrs Carrver at the piano* provided suitable wedding music. The bride and bridegroom and about 80 wedding guests all wore the Alountain Club’s uniform, of open-necked green flannel shirts, and dark-coloured ski trousers, skis and ice axes appearing as decorations, while the house itself was artistically decorated with mountain flowers in club colours. The wedding cake was surmounted with an iced miniature of Mount Egmont, and was cut with an ice axe. Air Al’Farland, in proposing the health of the bride and bridegroom at the wedding breakfast, remarked tlVat he was very pleased with the reverence of the service, so close to the grandeur of Nature, being 3000 feet above sea level, and with the glories of one of the most beautiful mountains around. Later dancing took place and concluded a happy and uniqufc occasion.
