Committee of National Body Meets. POLICY DECISIONS. At a meeting of the committee of the National Whippet Racing Association ol New Zealand (Incorporated), .Mr J. R. D. Johns presided. The honorary secretary reported that a legal opinion had been received that the association could not be responsible if the Belfast Club cancelled its 1;»35 St Reger. The position of the club was somewhat different. It wae decided to refer - the matter back to Belfast. Judicial Committee’s Report. The Judicial Committee reported that it had considered the status of Mr and Mrs A. Marshment and their dogs, and had Uveided to disqualify them during the pleasure of the association. Further correspondence was received regarding- the matter. The decision of the Judicial Committee was endorsed, and the period of disqualification fixed at three months from October 12, 1934. Reefton forwarded correspondence In connection with The purchase of certain puppies by Flying Prince—Misled. Action was held over, pending further inquiries. Dunollie wrote regarding certain (Statements alleged to have been made by Mr J. Don when recently at Cobden. It was decided to inform the club that Mr Don denied making such statements. Buller applied for permission to stage a match race between Bueksliee and Red Terror at the club’s next meeting. This was granted. Buller asked the association to consider lifting the vote of censure passed on the club’s handicapper. It was decided to accede to the club's request. The Handicapping Committee reported that, since the last meeting of the committee of the association, thirty race meetings had been arranged. A total of 578 dogs wore now fully classified. The report was endorsed. An extension of the time limit has been granted to White Tip and Ron. Clashing of Dates. Following on a recommendation from the Handicapping Committee, it was decided that, where meetings were following one another very closely In any district, the honorary secretary should nave the power to declare meetings in such series as urgent, such declaration to imply that it is necessary for the club concerned to post its marked programme to the association on the evening of the day on which the race meeting took place. Mrs M. A. Maddams wrote regarefing the disqualification of Entreaty at a recent meeting at Riccarton. Mrs Maddams is to he informed that, if the gun bad misfired, the position was unaltered. Any <?og leaving the mark before the gun had actually fired should be disqualified. and such start cannot count as an unplaced performance. Belfast forwarded a list of twentyfive financial members as on August. 16, 1934. After a short discussion, it was decided that all dubs must submit a list of their members prior to the annual meeting of the association, and that this list should be signed by the president and the secretary of the club. It was cfecided to remove the name of Master Roy from the list of dangerous dogs. This dog will no longer need to be muzzled.
