Australian Censor Refuses to Give Permit. (Received December 5. 2.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The Commonwealth film censor has refused a permit for the importation of the Gaumont - British production, “ Evensong.” The film is bzased on the stage play of the same name by Beverley Nichols and Edward Knoblock and the play in its turn was based on the novel “ Evensong,” by Mr Nichols, who came to Sydney with Dame Nellie Melba when she sang for the last time here.
