RUSHED TO PORT.

Appendicitis Case on the Waitaki. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, December 3. The Union Company’s steamer Wai taki came at full speed into port from Wellington to secure medical attention for a steward who suddenly became ill on Sunday. The steward. Max Marshall, aged twenty-six, a married mail, suffered an attack of appendicitis about seven o’clock and when his condition became worse it was decided to increase the vessel’s speed. A wireless message explaining the situation was transmitted to Auckland and on the steamer’s arrival a doctor and an ambulance were waiting. Marshall, whose home is in Wellington, was taken to hospital, where an operation was performed. His condition is not serious.
