SALE OF WORK.
Hospital Lady Visitors’ Association. There are many patients in the Christchurch Hospital who spend weeks, months, and in some cases even years, in bed, and to these the occupational work carried out under the direction of the Hospital Lady Visitors’ Association proves a wonderful means |of keeping up their interests. To enj courage the patients in their work, a j sale of goods made by them during | the year is arranged annually by the \ Hospital Lady Visitors’ Association, and, as many of the attractive articles are suitable for Christmas presents, the sale is held each year either late in November or early in December. This year's sale was held at the hospital yesterday, and was a great success. In addition to the work done by the patients, a few other stalls were arranged, and the stallholders did brisk business. The following were the stalls and stallholders: —Cakes, Mesdames E. G. Hogg and Russell Beals and Miss Joan Lee: occupational work, Mesdames J. R. Fleming, W. Bartram, Percy WynnWilliams, C. J. Ward. and Miss Barker; flowers, Mesdames J. G. Collins, S. H. Stewart and C. L. MeredithIvaye, and Miss Lilian Bowen.
