REPERTORY SOCIETY.
The dress rehearsal last night of “ Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary ” confirmed the favourable anticipations of the production of this interesting and highly amusing comedy. Not only do the.principals thoroughly enter into the spirit of the play, but tlie scenic effect is heightened by the charming settings specially designed by Professor Shelley and carried out by Mr G. Worthington. Mr Worthington's work has already in recent plays shown a high standard in stage settings, and on this occasion he has surpassed himself. The author of the plav, St John Krvine, is not well known in New Zealand, hut he is in the forefront of present-day dramatists, and deservedly so if “Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary ” may be taken as a criterion. Box plans are at the society's office at 15, Bedford Row. “Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary ” will be presented in the Radiant Hall to-morrow night, and also on Monday and Tuesday.
