Only 515 in North-West India Last Year. SERIOUS PROBLEM. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received November 30, 9.30 a.m.) CALCUTTA, November 29. With 5.15 officially recorded murders last year, a substantial decrease on the previous year, the North-West Frontier Province is claimed by the Government as probably the most murderous area in the civilised world. The province has a percentage ot 260 per million murder cases, compared with three in Britain. The Government recognises the seriousness of the problem and contends that the remedy lies in bringing about a change in the people’s mentality.

Villagers Kill Agent of Landlord. / United Press Assn.—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright. \ (Received November 30, 12.40 p.m.* CALCUTTA, November 29. < An Indian landlord’s agent, accompanied by two policemen, went to collect rents in the village of Salem, in South India, when they were attacked by angrv villagers armed with guns and hatchets. The agent was burnt alive in the centre of the village and one constable was killed.
