Bright Musical Show at Majestic. Full, unrestrained comedy character ises “ Hollywood Part}-,” a bright musical extravaganza now showing at the Majestic Theatre. Laurel and Hardv with Timmy Durante make a powerful comedy team in themselves, but with Polly Moran. Lupe Velez and a number of other stars to assist them, the fun is never allowed to flag. Hundreds of beautiful singing ballet girls provide excellent foils for the clowning of the principals. “ Schnarzan the Lion Man ’ (Durante) meets with more startling adventures than the famous Baron Munchausen could ever dream of. Lions and other denizens of the lungle hold no terrors for him. but. unfortunately. his screen following begins to desert him. and in an endeavour to gain prestige he gives a “ Hollywood Party.” And what a party! The fun becomes faster and faster until a totallv unexpected conclusion is reached. To comment on the acting of the principals would lie unnecessarv Their reputations speak for themselves Seenes taken at Melbourne and other places during the running of the rentenarv air race make up one of the big newsreels. A travelogue. “The Big Ditch of Panama." a good comedy and other newsreels complete an excellent programme.
